Barn in Luray, Virginia

I got to visit this beautiful old barn in Luray last month.
It was on a great old farm with lots to draw. I'm back to my slower drawing style - the One Drawing a Day loose style doesn't seem to be working. I will try some more.

Cracker Bay in St. Michaels

This great, large yacht came and docked in a tight little spot for a while. 

Amazing that I see all kinds of boats here.

This old church became an antiques shop but now may be abandoned. Still lots of stuff there, but no people.

Thunder in the valley

Thousands of motorcycles rolled through Johnstown, PA when I happened to be there. This is the City Hall where flood waters rose up to the second floor window level way back when.

Alice Anne

This fishing boat by the Oak Creek bridge stayed in the water all winter. Had a nice view from the bridge so I did this pencil sketch.

Steel Magnolia

One of the few brave boats to winter-over in the harbor. I guess if you're made of steel nothing bothers you. But it's good to see all the ice is gone.

Hooper Strait Light

Had some fun doing this painting and it was accepted into a juried show on the Eastern Shore - which made it even more fun.

Just read this book and felt moved to draw this house that is a replica of Douglass' sister's house where he often visited.
